Simple Battery Tricks for Long Offline Sessions

Simple Battery Tricks for Long Offline Sessions

July 28, 2026 · Markus Feldmann

Offline gaming often happens exactly when you can't charge: flights, trains, long waits. So battery life becomes part of the fun, whether you like it or not.

The biggest win is brightness. Drop it to the lowest comfortable level and you'll be shocked how much longer a heavy RPG lasts. Screens eat power faster than almost anything else.

Turn off background refresh and close other apps before you start. Even when you're offline, chatty apps keep waking up the processor looking for a signal they'll never find.

Airplane mode itself helps here too, beyond just enabling offline play. With the radios off, the phone stops burning power hunting for towers. Two wins from one toggle.
